If you sell products, you may want to look into Google Product Listings. I have several clients who do this, and they seem to be quite happy with the outcome.
For example, one client ranks #1, #4, 5 and 6 for a particular brand of pillow (Sleeprrr Pillow), but they also use Google Product Listings because of the visual impact, and the location (top of page).
If you search for that query, you will also notice something else which makes your listing stand out: ratings stars.
Ratings stars are implemented using microdata code, and is highly recommended, although obviously not practical for all businesses.
